This Privacy Policy describes how Apna District ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use the mobile application.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Apna District is an independent, private local commercial and directory application. It is NOT affiliated with, authorized by, associated with, or endorsed by any government entity, department, municipal body, or official government authority. The app does not represent a government entity or facilitate official government services.

The app provides public local-guide features, neighborhood shop directories, merchant deals, and local creator profiles without requiring sign-in. Creator and merchant management tools use a secure sign-in system.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

The app stores a limited set of preferences locally on your device so core features can work properly. This includes:

  • Saved place selections & bookmarks
  • Language mode preference (English / Hindi / Both)
  • Cached login session token to maintain optional signed-in sessions

These items remain stored locally on your device and are never sold or tracked across other apps.

4. Information Collected for Creator & Merchant Features

If you register a creator/influencer profile or use merchant tools, the app and secure servers handle:

  • Email address & authentication provider IDs (e.g. Google Sign-In)
  • Phone number & WhatsApp contact details (optional)
  • Merchant shop profile details (shop name, category, address, location coordinates, shop offers, and video links)
  • Creator/Influencer profile details (name, social handle/links, category, bio, profile photo URL, video links, and follower statistics)

5. User-Generated Content & Merchant Listings Disclaimer

Apna District enables local merchants, shop owners, and creators to post their shop offers, business updates, video showcases, and local hiring notices.

  • Merchant & Creator Responsibility: All shop offers, discounts, video links, product prices, business details, and job/hiring notices are created directly by third-party merchants and creators. They are solely responsible for the accuracy, authenticity, and legality of their listings.
  • Third-Party Media Embeds: Video showcases link directly to public content on third-party platforms (YouTube & Instagram). Playback is subject to third-party terms of service, and Apna District holds no ownership or liability for third-party media content.
  • No Guarantee or Endorsement: Apna District does not verify, guarantee, or warrant any merchant claims, job offers, or discounts. We do not act as an employment agency or transaction mediator.
  • Limitation of Liability: Apna District and its developers are not liable or responsible for any financial transactions, agreement outcomes, job application results, product quality issues, or disputes arising between users and third-party merchants or creators.

6. Permissions and Device Access

The app does not request sensitive runtime permissions (such as contacts, camera, microphone, phone state, or storage access). Location permission is used locally on-device solely for distance-based deal sorting and map route queries.

Internet access is required for fetching live merchant deals, account sign-in, and creator/merchant features.

7. How Data Is Used

Local app preferences support in-app user features like saved places and language switching. Account and profile data are used strictly to maintain your merchant shop or creator profile, manage posts, and ensure platform security.

8. Sharing and External Links

The app hands off actions (such as opening Google Maps, launching external websites, opening WhatsApp, or dialing a phone number) to third-party applications on your device only after you explicitly tap an action button. We do not control or take responsibility for external websites or third-party apps.

We do not use advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking SDKs, or sell personal user data to third parties.

9. Data Retention and Account Deletion

Local preferences remain on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app storage in device settings.

If you created a creator or merchant account, you can request full account deletion from inside the app. Account deletion permanently removes your account, linked shop, merchant posts, and creator profiles from our servers.

10. Security

All network communication with our servers is secured using encrypted connections (HTTPS). Local data is protected by standard Android device sandboxing.

11. Children's Privacy

The app is a general-audience local commercial guide and directory app, and is not directed at children under the age of 13.

12. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect app updates or legal requirements. The updated policy will always be published at this HTTPS URL.
